Chicken Adobo

Based on the main ingredients, the most common adobo dishes are adobong manok, in which chicken is used, and adobong baboy, in which pork is used. Adobong baka (beef), along with adobong manok, is more popular among Muslim Filipinos.

Chicken adobo is one popular Filipino dish. This Adobo dish has lots of alternative like pork, chicken, a mix of pork and chicken, other meats, and vegetables. For this recipe, we will need this
 
Ingredients:
  • 1 kilogram chicken, cut into serving pieces
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup vinegar
  • 4 gloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 5 pieces bay leaves
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon sugar
  • 3 tablespoon cooking oil
  • 1 1/2 cup water
  • Salt to taste
Procedures:
1. In a bowl combine chicken, garlic, bay leaves, pepper and soy sauce. Marinate for at least 1 hour.
2. Separate garlic and chicken then set aside the sauce.
3. In a pan, heat the 3 tablespoon oil and fry marinated chicken for 5 minutes or until golden brown.
4. Mix the marinade and add 1 1/2 cup of water. Simmer for 30 minutes or until chicken is tender.
5. Mix the vinegar and simmer for another 3-5 minutes then season with salt and sugar taste.
6. Remove from heat then transfer to serving bowl. Serve with hot rice.
