Ginataang Langka (Jackfruit cooked in Coconut Milk)

Ginataang Langka is one of the Filipino Recipe that is popular in Carenderia Business: ginataang langka (jackfruit in coconut milk) is another easy yet a healthy food. Normally the jackfruit sliced and boiled. Then cooked with coconut milk sometimes mixed with some shrimps or diced salted dried fish, season with salt and pepper. This dish is mostly made of the minced jackfruit, To prepare this dish we will need this.

Ingredients:


1 cup coconut cream (first extract)
3 cups of coconut milk (second extract)
2 large onion, sliced
7 cups unripe jackfruit(langka), Diced
6 garlic cloves, crushed
1 ginger, sliced and diced
4 pieces green chili(siling haba)
Shrimps or shredded salted dried fish(daing) (Optional)
Some (BAGO leaf vegetable) forgot the name in english, torn to pieces (Optional)
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
salt and pepper to taste

Procedures:

1. In a large pan, heat oil and sauté onion, garlic and ginger.
2. Add/Put-in the diced langka, stir and sauté for a few minutes.
3. Add the coconut milk(2nd extract), simmer over low heat for 15 minutes.
4. When the Langka is soaked with the 2nd extract, add-in the coconut cream(1st extract) and season with salt and pepper.
5. Cook for another 15 minutes or until langka is tender. Stirring occasionally.
6. (Optional) Add fried fish and green chili, simmer until sauce is thickens and oily.
7. (Optional) Add the BAGO Leaf vegetable and simmer for about 5-10 minutes until it is lightly cooked.
8. Transfer to serving bowl.
9. Serve Hot, Share and Enjoy!
